Political radicals don�t evaluate their own errors�about anything

"One common feature of radicalism is a confidence in the rightness of your ideas, even if they go against those of society at large."

He sounds pretty confident about that.

"So why do radicals have so much certainty?"

Easy...they mistakenly believe their ideas represent the society at large.

You know, like this guy writing the article and the lab coats in it who are pretending their social science theatre is actual science deserving the credibility of actual science are doing.

All it's really about is BSing people into believing they represent the thoughts of society at large. They don't.

Fucking radicals.

Applies as much to economic radicals. Like the austerity clowns, or the fanatics that want no taxes on the rich. Both ideas have a history of multiple failures that cause nothing but even more economic damage wherever the policies are implemented. Yet both ideas are time and time again tried elsewhere with the exact same results ensuing.

It's kind of obvious that the sort of radicalism where an elevation to a better, freer, and more dignified status is wanted will succeed without the predicted catastrophes from the scolds ever occurring, e.g. women getting the right to vote, gay marriage, legalizing marijuana. The radicalism though that wants to divide along fictitious lines, to promote bogus utopianism, or to enrich a few at the expense of the rest seem to be destined for disaster. Worth studying some more but given human nature it's doubtful any real lessons will be learned by the pimps and pundits who make their money pushing bad ideas onto society at large.
