For the record I live my life by those words of MLK. It’s cost me over the years, but at least I can live with myself.

llama66 llama66: I’m reminded of the words of Martin Luther King, “we begin to die the day we are silent on the things that matter”. As a child I was sexually assaulted by my Adoptive Brother, I came forward right away and he was charged (although he got nothing, my Adopted Mum was a member of Toronto high society, she actually disowned me and dumped me in CAS care for reporting it) but despite losing a “good” life, I regret nothing. Maybe more people need to think of themselves and come forward when they are abused/raped. People need to stop waiting to report this at a time when it beneficial for them, it’s a crime... FUCKING REPORT IT or forever hold your piece. I get I’m not normal because I don’t see myself as a “victim”, I see myself as a survivor. Where I’m going is Ms. Ford should have come forward in 1982, just like all these #metoo people (who I have so much contempt for). The time has come for common sense to prevail, how can you be silent and allow a potential monster victimize others? I dunno. We’re not going in the right direction. I'm sorry to hear about your assault and while I can't understand your pain I at least can sympathize. I was lucky my father and the fathers of most of my friends would have disappeared any son of a bitch who assaulted one of us kids. Almost all of them were veterans so it would have been no questions asked. These assholes would just be gone and it wouldn't matter their station in life. Now days if you even touch one of these perverts you're the one in jail while they remain on the street. I'm sorry but if I was sexually assaulted I'd do everything in my power to hunt the fucker down and take a pound of flesh from my attacker both physically and mentally. But I would never accuse an innocent man or woman of an act as heinous as sexual assault to further a political agenda. Maybe that's what separates me from some American politicians. These degenerates would happily lie to their family, friends, associates and fellow countrymen just to fuck the other party which is disgusting. I don't know how long this insanity will last but I hope at some point the good people left in America rise up and take a very large runny shit on the perpetrators of the "Guilty till proven innocent" crowd and stop this madness in it's tracks.

He’s a piece of shit. Unworthy of my time or attention. I’ve moved on. That’s not to say if I saw him I wouldn’t cave his fucking skull in with a baseball bat before dahlmering him with said bat. Years of therapy made me the mostly productive member of society I am today. This is my point, people who politicize this are pieces of shit, it cheapens what happened to people like me. Shit or get off the pot. Be brave, take a stand. Report the assault when it happens, not 40 years later.

Report the assault when it happens, not 40 years later. Sorry you had to go through that; but not everyone is able to make the choices you did. Some people would keep silent for the reasons you state, your mother had power. You were willing to risk being disowned, ignored, abused further, in order to do what you thought was right . . . not everyone is. Some have to bear the pain and wait 40 years till they are in a position of power, or they have nothing left to lose, before they come forward. I'm not in that position, so I try not to judge them for their decisions.

Hillary Clinton: Kavanaugh’s political hit job claim is laughable$1: Hillary Clinton on Tuesday scoffed at Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s claim that there was a political hit job being carried out against him “on behalf of the Clintons” — saying the accusation “deserves a lot of laughter.”
“Boy, I’ll tell you, they give us a lot of credit,” Clinton said while speaking at The Atlantic Festival in Washington.
“For anyone who believes there’s such a thing as judicial temperament and that we want judges, particularly those on our highest court to approach issues, approach plaintiffs and defendants with a sense of fairness — there’s a lot to be concerned about.” https://nypost.com/2018/10/02/hillary-clinton-kavanaughs-political-hit-job-claim-is-laughable/________________ This is a political hit job because Democrats still can't get over losing 2016 to Trump. Brett Kavanaugh was not in a position of power to silence anyone coming forward unlike Hillary's husband Bill Clinton and BFF Harvey Weinstein.

I get that, but as cheesy as it sounds, the healing doesn't really start until you address the elephant in the room. I get its not an easy choice to make, but its the ONLY choice to make. I'm sorry, not coming forward allows a sexual predator to continue to prowl for victims unchecked. In my mind, that should make a person complicit in every subsequent sexual attack. YOU had the chance to stop it, but you chose not to. I view these #metoo people and anyone who decides to report a crime of this magnitude years or decades after it happened as character assassins. Probably not a popular opinion, but there you have it.

The FBI report is out and since it doesn't have anything to substantiate an event that didn't happen the Democrats are calling for more delays and more investigations to hopefully drag out the nomination until after January 2021.
I'm looking forward to the vote on Saturday and part of me hopes that some of the squishes and red state Democrats vote against Kavanaugh so enraged voters can send their asses packing in November.

It doesn’t have anything of substance because that was the whole point. It was a sham investigation that was hamstrung from the very beginning to make sure nothing was uncovered.

You really think that the same FBI that's been openly hostile to President Trump over the past two years just suddenly decided to do his bidding?

They've only been openly hostile to him in the right wing narrative. To us militant centrists, they've been perfectly normal and doing their jobs. But it's odd that they didn't speak to a lot of people who might know something . . . https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/pl ... d-collins/

It's odd that none of those people testified to Congress last week.

All of Kavanaugh's Yale classmates that were willing to talk to the FBI about his behaviour in college weren't contacted and that was on purpose. Basically identical to telling the cops to burn any video footage they find that can clearly and accurately ID a perp while they're in the middle of committing a crime.

Lindsey Graham put this on Twitter after the Democrats complained that the FBI report didn't prove anything against Kavanaugh: $1: “Why don’t we dunk him in the water and see if he floats?!” @LindseyGrahamSC
